Happy New Year!

Wow, 2009 has arrived and were mapping out our future. We already have 4 completed tunes that we're honing and shaping and were that much closer to deciding on a name.

Cam and I are having such a difficult time committing to a moniker that we felt it was best to whittle down the 30-someodd names we've been tossing back and forth to a handful and let the masses decide.

The final 8 names are as follows:

Wind-up Robots

Paper Stars

The Kessel Run

Easy Winter

Liars and Leavers

The Grand Fables

Midway After Dark

City of Lakes

We created a group on Facebook called the Cam & Jay Show, where we've enlisted the help of friends to assist us in the naming process. Group members get to vote on their favorites or tell us which names they loathe and based on the numbers we receive we'll make our final decision.

(As it turns out, my personal fav, the Kessel Run, has been taken already. So it has been removed... hmph)

For now the tallies are growing and in a week or so, we'll tell the world who we are and join the MySpace world of unsigned musicians.

Some of our voters are wondering what we sound like, as this could have bearing on the name they choose as their favorite.

Here's one song recorded off the floor. It's pretty much complete although some of the structure is still evolving. Keep in mind that this is still the genesis of our sound since we will be auditioning bass, drums and keys in the very near future.

We will post some more songs this week, so please come back for a visit soon or subscribe to this blog to keep up to date.

BTW. If you know any musicians that are interested in auditioning for bass, drums, keys, accordion, horns, violin, experimental percussion, harmonica... well we'd certainly appreciate the heads-up.

Moving on-ward... on the Long Road to Rock.
